To participate in Earth Day, my daughter’s school held a ‘litter-less lunch.’ Which meant no wrappers or anything throw-away could be used to hold lunch items. I depend on healthier pre-wrapped snacks, so this morning was a challenge, although it was accomplishable, I was scrambling to meet the needs of my picky eater.
I’m a disciplined recycler. Anything I can, I will put in our blue bin. I don’t think twice about rinsing and pealing labels off cans. However, one of my downfalls is the use of cleaning agents. I like the strong order of disinfectants to make my house feel and smell clean. I’m satisfied when my house is polished, but I also feel guilty for putting horrible solutions down my drain. I have discovered some ‘green’ products that work well, but it's also easy to make a homemade cleaning product, too. Today, I bought a spray bottle. I am also going to make an ‘earth friendly’ cleaning solution to be used on my counters and floors. I’m curious, do you make your own or buy cleaning products? If you make your own, what ingredients do you use? I’d love to hear your suggestions on my Facebook page.
Until then, Happy Earth Day!
