Okay, I'm a little slow at posting, but here I am!
This is the first year in five years that I haven't gone Black Friday shopping in the US. I woke up this morning thinking about the rush and excitement I experienced in previous years. The long wait around the mall to enter Target and three in the morning coffee to keep me going for the long stretch. There is no eating, it's time wasted. By noon, the adrenaline starts to wear off and the shopping is almost done. I have bought items I don't really need, but were a good deal and toys I hope my kids will love. It feels like I skipped this tradition and wonder if it will be the same for me next year as I like to be organized to combat the stress it evokes when left to the last minute. Shopping early has helped my sanity and my wallet because I'm only buying things that are needed and not things that I think I need. This year, I'm concentrating on when to do Christmas baking and crafts with my kids, that alone is time worth saving.
