I hope December is finding you well.
Amongst the craziness the holidays can bring, I'm learning to simplify by doing what I can manage, rather than keep up with what everyone else is doing. Here is my list of how I'm keeping this Christmas less stressful for me and my family.
1. Instead of using ALL of my Christmas decorations, I've selected a few so that I don't feel cluttered. ( unorganized = stress).
2. I've kept my Christmas list straight forward. Not going overboard. Who needs more stuff?? For those of you who have children, you might have seen this on Facebook or have heard about it. Give your child a WANT, a NEED, something to WEAR, something to READ. Love this idea. This made shopping easier. Of course, if you have Santa coming to your house, that's an extra gift or three. :)
3.Plan your meals a head of time. For those last minute stop in or stop by, crackers, cream cheese, ( any cheese, really), jars of olives and or smoked meat on hand is a quick recovery for the unexpected.
4. Heading to the liquor store? What a zoo that can be. I usually pick up a couple extra bottles to have on hand for the last minute gift or company. It doesn't go bad and everyone's happy!
5. When it comes to Christmas baking, I choose two or three items that I will make and freeze. That way I have treats ready to go and I'm not making so much that it becomes a waste. I don't indulge when the holidays are over.
I hope you have a wonderful Christmas.
xx
