I'm on my forth and last week of bikini bootcamp. I have to admit, it's the most challenging workout I have ever done. When my trainer said, you'll walk like a penguin the next day, she was not kidding. I could barely walk down the stairs without holding onto the railing. It brought back memories when I was nine months pregnant and moved at a snails pace.
The intensity is fierce. I work so hard that my eyeballs sweat. I never thought I could throw a twelve-pound ball into the air and catch it as I do a squat, and repeat it twenty-four more times and then do it again another round.
As I performed my sixty-forth pushup, I have to admit, I was asking myself, 'why am I doing this?' And then I laughed to myself as my arms were shaking, feeling like a weak rubber band about to snap. I kept telling myself, I can do this.
If you are asking, why am I putting myself through this? Well, I wanted to see what I could do physically when under the pressure of a trainer. There's no cheating. Not like working out at home where its so easy to talk yourself out of doing one more bicep curl.
I learned a little about myself this past four weeks: even if something is really hard, it might not get easier, but your mind will get stronger.
What have you done lately that has been your biggest challenge? I want to hear it. Tweet me about it @charlenegroome
